  • Brakes: Al least the grease keeps the rust away

    As I get to know this car I found someone mistook the two front brake wheel cylinder bleed screws for grease zerks.

    Yes sir're ya gotta pump lots a good ol' Chassis Grease in there to keep those Brakes greased up!
    I wonder if they greased the Muffler Bearings too.

    They say there's one born every Minute.

        Maybe the grease was to ward off the "rust tightly closed" gremlin

          I've seen that before. Fortunately, the grease won't go in.

            See, the bleeder screws are nice and shiny. better check the grease zerk in the center of that front cross member. Luck Doofus

              Maybe they just smeared the grease on the outside to keep the screw from rusting up & seizing? I've broken off stuck ones and also resorted to a low torch to try get rusted ones loose.

                Really not a bad idea.I've fought with too many rusty bleeders over the years.
