  • What to do with 1962 GT bodies - trash them or reedsville?

I am not sure what to do with some 1962 GT parts.

I have two rough bodies, both with good glass and full dash.
    3 complete doors.
    1 full set of seats.
1 extra steering box, column, with 3 pedals
    good hood and trunk
    maybe some extra rims
    trim and front headlight
    aluminum things under headlights
    Bumpers
    brake and suspension parts

I was planning on going to Reedsville to get rid of this stuff. But if it is all slow moving stuff, maybe I should junk it. I feel bad cutting up the bodies because the roof lines are good, but I cannot transport a body too easily. Maybe 1 if someone needed it.

Any GT specialist that would want this lot of stuff? Happy to trade from rubber for a 1953 Hardtop.

You would be amazed what the Right Person can do with bodies like that.

We sold one '62 GT to a Carrera Panamerican Mexico Racer for his '53 Hardtop, he needed the Complete Cowl/Firewall after a Bad wreck!

Not to mention all those dash and Interior Parts.

I would place an Ad here and pre-sell it/them (or Parts) before the Swap Meets:

Someone would surely want the complete manual-transmission column and clutch linkage. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

It looks like you have the full reclining bucket seats as well.
Hauling the whole thing to Reedsville would really be a shot in the dark, but people should be speaking up about those parts if you spread the word. I would not crush just yet. Advertise "parting out" in Turning Wheels, and with your local chapter.

If you pre-sell a body, get a deposit before lugging it all the way there.

Looks like a lot of usable parts still there. Biggest thing with parts like that is those that have them think they are gold. Run a add on here or craigslist and be fair.

Good GT trunk lids are very hard to come by, especially rust free '62s & '63s. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a home for them. Too bad you aren't closer, shipping would be exhorbitant to the West Coast....

I have a forward air account, so I can ship big things cheaply.

Hard to tell condition from the pic, but I'd be interested in that aluminum dash trim plate/spealker grill that surrounds the radio, if it's as unmolested as it would appear.

Also you mentioned 2 bodies, does the other have the vinyl top trim?
