1964 hawk body number

I just purchased a 64 hawk. What does the k mean in the body number.

The K means it's a Hawk hardtop. The 56-61 pillared Hawk coupes were C bodies. The Lark hardtops were J bodies. These letters are all explained in the 59-64 parts books, which would be a good investment.

The R prefix in the engine number means the R1 engine started out life in a 63 Avanti.
