If I use paint remover to take the paint off the hubcaps before applying the vinyl pieces from Studebaker International, what is the best way to clean the paint remover off so the vinyl will stick on tight?

Follow up with lacquer thinner, wipe it clean with a dry cloth, and let it air dry before repainting.

(Actually, I would use lacquer thinner to remove the original paint.)

I just cleaned my 57 wheel covers then applied the appliques, see no reason to remove the paint beforehand.
