  • Bought a 3E

Decided to pass on the nice wagon after winning the snipe bid on this truck. May go with a V8 with the AC.

Hmmm, I wonder how many of these actually were equiped with the big six? I am going to guess very few...

    Looks like nice find.

Not many at all. Most had the 170 6. (Such as my 4E1-112 Scotsman)

My grandad has 3 other 59 Scotsman PU's, and they were all 170 6 powered but one, which had a 259 V8.

If it were mine, I'd keep a Big 6 in it. That's just a really good engine IMO. But, if I had a good 289 laying around... [8D]

The whole concept of the Scotsman can be described as austere. By its very nature it is spartan and since it appears to be in good shape I would keep it simple and stock.

Painting the grille (and maybe the bumpers), white would sure set off that paint job.[8D] Pretty truck.[^]
