Studebaker enthusiast much longer -
I thought this was the fastest car ever that started out as a Studebaker. Heard it went 311, but couldn't back it up with a return run.

Although I have not followed this kind of competition with a lot of enthusiasm, I always enjoy seeing such reverence and acknowledgement regarding the impact Studebaker made in automotive history.

The car also prompted a rule change when it was decided that running the eight exhaust pipes all the way out the back was the same as a belly pan which the class did not allow. Hence a rule change. Ahead of their time and a car we all admire and look to for inspiration. Hope the Hawk we run next year lives up to the standard set by the SanChez and Cagle team.Comment
