  • Another noob question

Any place I might be able to go for a nos champ grill for my lark?

Or do I just wait for eBay and Craigslist to produce one.

I think there are two on eBay right now. but both are Painted white. I want a chrome one.
I might have to buy it and have it chromed.

Patience, there are folks here who have salvaged many many part cars.

Studebaker International had a few left, the last time I checked. You need to ask. It's not in the catalog.

SI has or at least had a NOS white champ one in the showroom.

an NOS grille will likely be less expensive than having a plain one chromed.

Brian, do you already have a '61-'63 Front bumper for it, so the Grille does not appear to be almost touching the Bumper? With a Champ Grille it may be Below the Bumper.

No, I don't have the bumper. I didn't even know that would be a issue! I might tuck the front bumper alittle. Maybe that will help. Idk. I don't plan on a full restoration type build. More of a resto-mod.

Funny thing is I almost went to south bend today to check out the Studebaker trees...

Maybe I'll go next Saturday and check out SI

South Bend SI is closed to the public. It's being used as a warehouse and is open during special Studebaker events. The Greenfield store is the only one open now.

SI is open on Wednesdays from 10 am to 2 pm. Would call Greenfield to confirm that Ed was there.

I remember two vendors at York who had beautiful Champ grills. One had the side grills match. If I ever get a '59 or '60 Lark again I will use these items rather than the stock Lark ones. I really like the look.

The side grills are different too?

Called SI and they don't have a chrome one. And the white one they have in stock is 400$

I probably can swing having one chromed. But it will have to be cheaper then 400 to start!

The side grills for 1961-64 Champs are the same as the '59 Lark side grills, slotted instead of eggcrated like the '60.
