  • Transmission / Overdrive: Looking for an R10 overdrive case....

    ... for a 1942 transmission. Case has R10B-1R embossed on the outside .. Case was damaged by repair shop.

    Anyone having one or knowing of one, please contact

      I probably have one, does you transmission have a flanged or slip yoke.

          The picture you are showing is of a later model transmission. The R10 is a very common housing used from 47-57. The housing for the 42 should read R7 but I believe the 42 has a slip yoke while the R10 uses a flange. Not sure what you have.

            Thank you for responding. I could be wrong with my research. Nobody positively identified the application. My unit is a R10B-1R. The R10B-1G has the same case. Thats all I have so far. Any further help is much appreciated.

              Could the numbers on the case be casting numbers? There might be several differently machined cases with the same number on them.

ID:	1716685Anyone? T86E-1A tranny is one application. R10B-1G and R10B-1G are the only two numbers on the case that seem to be the same overdrives.
