  • looking for parts for a friend

A friend of mine has a 54 Champion coupe that he purchased. I am trying to help him with parts:
    Looking for:
Complete steering column and shaft for the saginaw power steering with the automatic shifter
    Outside rear bumper brackets
    gauges/switches for GT dash
Door latch assembly, on door where door lock hooks up
vent window frame that attaches to door
    Full flow V8 289
    Brake/clutch combo plate and pad
    rear view mirror
center rear console just the bottom section

    Thanks,
    Jim

Why does he want the parts to install a manual transmission, yet wants the steering column for an automatic transmission? Is that a typo?

What side of the car are the latches and vent windows for?

Why does he need "Brake/clutch combo plate and pad"?

My 53 has this setup. He has the brake and clutch pedal still in the car. Is there another way to do it? I still am new to all the different combinations.

            Jim,
            I have the following:

            Outside rear bumper brackets
Gauges for GT dash (does he want a complete set with tach and clock?).
Door latch assembly, on door where door lock hooks up
Full flow V8 289 (No shipping on this one)
            rear view mirror. (inside)

Which side doe he need the vent window frame for?

If he is interested I'll PM you my contact info

The body and chassis parts catalogs answer all of these questions. One only has to purchase, read, and comprehend.

I think I figured out what Jim means Roy.
He wants the Huge "Brake Pedal and Rubber Pad" used on '53-'54 Automatic Cars that connects the Brake Pedal Shaft to the unused Clutch Pedal Shaft.

Yes, that is what I have. I either need to get that pad or see if I can just remove the clutch pedal and make it work. Manuals can tell you things but not all if you do not completely understand the car. I was told tonight that they went to a single pedal in 55. I ask because I want to learn. You guys are better than the books. There may be better ways to do things. Through the forum by asking questions it looks like we could use a power steering steering column from a sedan or land cruiser. They are shorter but could be lengthened to work. The guides will not show that.
