Trying to mount an AC-4627 radio in my 49 Champion. This radio look similar to the model AC-1387 whose mounting instructions I have. Looking for the under dash j-clip mounting points that mount thru the radio side mounted brackets.
Photos attached. Any idea how this radio could be installed?
Thanks for your help.

Are you getting rid of the Motorola aftermarket radio that is in the dash now, or is that the radio you are trying to install?

The Motorola mounts differently than the OEM Philco does.

I have never heard of an AC- 4627. Is that the correct number? Do you mean an S-4627?

The S-4627 is the same radio as the AC-1387. "S" is the Philco number and "AC" is the Studebaker accessory number. They are two different numbers for the same radio.

The Motorola is installed and not operable. I have a rebuilt "S-4627" ready to install so I'm checking out the mounting before I go ahead and do it.

I would think that the car was built to accept the S-4627 radio unless each factory order was different with respect to the radio mounting based on the dealer purchase order.

Excellent. Thank you. Interesting that they changed production methods mid-stream in 1949.

Thanks Roy. My collection is mostly tech info. Manuals, bulletins, old parts books. No use having it if I don't share it.
