Studebaker Wheel

A pretty involved restoration involving lots of improvisation. I note in the narrative it is mentioned that the '28s were available with hydraulic brakes. So far as I know that is not the case. In any event it looks pretty impressive notwithstanding some liberties taken with originality. Not a problem as he saved one that otherwise may have never have been saved. I guess it is a model GH as that was the last series with the big 354 c.i. Big Six engine.

Wonder why the restorer said about the 3:35 differential, "this came back to haunt me later." I don't think that he ever indicated why it became an issue. It certainly would not have been the gearing. In the cars that I have been around these tall gears seemed to be about perfect, with that torque monster of an engine. Bet he never got the brakes adjusted properly, or he had a weak right leg.
