Just got my new champion 3 row rad for lark today :D Its intended application is early 70s to early 80s cj5 with chevy conversion. I bought this after reading a few threads on this forum. WHAT AN AWESOME FIT! its a little shiny compared to the rest of the patina:lol: but i'll learn to live with it, considering a recore was gonna be $600. Thanks again guys , keep posting great info and finds!

It really is a plug and play item. Just two new holes on the mount and you're done. It was one of the best things I ever did for the longevity of my 59' Lark. Runs cool on the hottest desert days. Less money well spent.

Cool! (pun intended) I did this conversion on my Lark and it really works good! I painted mine semi-gloss black and that helped the shiny-ness.

Yep I can see a spray bomb coming its way:rolleyes: especially since its still in mock up.

Be sure you use a temperate radiator paint not just a regular can of spray black or you'll restrict the cooling ability of the aluminum.

With a different radiator, although they fit, what upper and lower hoses did each one use?

I had to trim the lower to fit with no bends or kinks. The upper original, 63 style, hose will not fit as the radiator inlet is a little further towards the center of the car than the original. A few details may help to solve the issue. I'm using a 63 V8, with the 63 water pump manifold with the horizontal outlet thermostat housing instead of the vertical outlet of the 59, in a 59 Lark so the outlet is different from stock. I don't mind cutting and fitting some sort of metal tubing inline if needed but what have others done?

I just semi-gloss blacked the front and top tank of mine, and left the engine side
aluminum. That model aluminum is the kitty's titty's...$170...

Eastwood sells a rattle can radiator paint, that looks like original, but does not coat or plug the cooling fins. I had my original radiator cleaned and tested, but now I'm thinking about adding AC, so it may not have enough cooling capacity. has anyone found a good three row replacement for 60 Hawks?

Thanks. I like the look of the original, but plan to drive in warm weather with AC, so may have to upgrade.

Yup. I did one of those in my 56 Wagon. Fits like a glove.

I added 2 12 in electric fans side by side to my 59 wagon. Also have a/c.

So, everyone here used their stock hoses?

I used the brand new stock hoses I ordered from Chuck Collins. Fit perfect.
