  • Production Order question

Does the Museum have production orders for 1956 Packards? There is a 1956 400 on Phoenix Craigslist that is advertised with 7841 actual miles. It is a complete project as all the paint has been stripped off. From what I see, I think it is a Scottish Heather and Dover white car. I would be curious where the car was delivered.

    Yes they do, Bob.

However, the option codes appear only as two-letter designations. You have to know the two-letter designations for each option to see how the car was built; the options aren't printed out as they are on Studebaker production orders.

For example, the P.O. for my 1956 Clipper has these option codes: HE, RPM, AG, OB, OF, TL, DE.

    Those "decode" to:

    HE: Fresh-Air Heater
    RPM:Manual radio with Manual Antennae
    AG: Convenience Group
    OB: Oil Bath Air Cleaner
    OF: Oil Filter
TL: Torsion-Level (supposedly standard on Supers, but who knows?)
DE: Dual Exhaust (again, supposedly standard on Supers)

If you get a P.O. and need help with the codes, let me know. BP

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.
