  • Wheels / Tires: What wheels?

    Hi all,
Does anyone know what modern wheels will fit a 1950 2R 1/2 ton truck?

Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Pickup and Van wheels have the same bolt pattern, I don't know the year maybe 70's to 80's but only certain shapes will clear the uneven surface of Stude. Drums, Washers are NOT a safe option. Do you have the Astro Vans over there?

What Rich said. The Chev/GMC 1/2-ton wheels have the same bolt pattern, but the ridges on the Stude drums prevent nice flat wheel-drum contact and make the studs too short. You can replace the Stude studs with longer lugs, but that's only a partial fix. A better fix is to replace the Stude drums with Chev/GMC.. Bob Johnstone's site has a primer on how to do it.

Fixed it. I dumped the Photobucket picture and, after some adjustments, added one from my computer. I actually haven't used Photobucket since I found that I could add pictures directly from my computer.
