:whome:Any suggestions for best sources to find a "Hi Tone" horn for a 1951 Champion? Neither horn on my car operates, although I was able to find a "Lo Tone" horn on MyStudebaker.com today. Have searched at Studebaker Int'l, and it's "no dice" for this unusual part. Your advice welcome!

If you are not concerned with originality, any 6 volt Hi tone horn, from any brand of car, should work. The horns on my 51 are inside the grill, out of sight, so seeing a horn that looks different should not be a problem - because it cannot readily be seen.

OK -- that's good to know, RadioRoy. I may be heading down that path...and thanks for the advice.

Any one know a source for original 6 volt horns? Should be a lot around with all the swaps and conversions going on. No VW horns please, too "cute".

Alternatively, does any one know someone who rebuilds old horns? I bought a couple from Vern Etiger in Kansas and his Great Studebaker Salvage Yard -- but they barely make a peep when electrified.
