  • Transmission / Overdrive: Transmission Identification?

What did this trans. come out of ?. 6bolts on top T86E-1.
It is a short tailshaft & has a bolted yoke on it.

It isn't enough information . Is it long tailshaft? T86 is generally Commander or V8 . Champions used the smaller T96. Short tailshaft and two piece driveshaft until 57, Then from 58 on, a slip yoke tail housing, and long case extension, and a one piece driveshaft.

The MOST common situation is exactly as Bez described.

However there IS one more rarer possible application, the TRUCK T-90 had a T-86 Case, and was used behind the Larger Commander 6 and V-8's but with Lower 1st. and Second Gears.

One clue would be; they all had the SHORT Tail, with the bolted Yoke for a 2 piece driveshaft, like the '47 to '57 Commander & V8 CARS.
