I notice this depression or tunnel looking cavity in the right side grille area of my 57 GH and would like to know why it is there. Is it maybe to funnel air to the generator fan?

In the Right Inner Fender, that is the Fuel Pump Cooling duct for the Six cylinder Cars.

You can use it for your Supercharger Air Intake! :D

65430 It appears that your air deflector like this one, is missing.
It's right at the forward end of this Radiator hose.

The air for my supercharger is through the air cleaner as shown in this picture.

Very nice original restoration! :!:

I of course was kidding, but if you were building a Custom street rod you COULD actually do that, but NEVER on a Original Golden Hawk.

On my daughter's '59 Hawk the factory (dealer installed??) A/C lines pass through a duct on the passenger's side grill.

Yes they can be used for things like that, also the Aftermarket Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Lines, but that is not their main purpose.

 That's where my AC condenser lines pass through too!

I haven't re-installed the transmission cooler lines so I hadn't thought of that. That is where they will go!

Since I'm running a Chevy 350 motor I plugged that cavity off with stiff foam to direct more air through the radiator for cooling on the highway. The A/C lines still go trough there but it still left plenty of room for air to escape from radiator front area/space.

Intercooler ducting from turbo will reside there on '53 coupe. Doofus
