65400Is there any theory on why Stude used the odd slotted plug for the machining path for the distributor gear oiling hole? It is always a bitch to get out.

It probably cost 3 cents while an allen head one was a nickel.

If it's a pain to get out, MIG weld a nut on it that will slip over it and replace it with a more normal configuration. Bob

It is imperative that you have a square good tight fitting screwdriver, one that is rounded will only cause more trouble. Lots of pressure with a square shaft and crescent wrench and steady but deliberate turning. I just removed mine on a 259 with no issues.

I have used an impact driver with proper fitting bit more than once. Luck Doofus
