  • speedometer cable?

I just installed a turbo 350 transmission behind the 327 in my 66 Avanti II. The swap was not that difficult, a bolt in with mods to the shift linkage, trans mount and a drive shaft replacement. At this point I have the speedometer cable hole in the trans plugged. What cable setup do I need to get to make my speedo work [stock gauges]? Thanks,

It will depend upon your cable end. And also what rear end ration you have. If the cable screws on at the tranny, then you may just need a turbo 350 bullet and the driven gear that it holds that goes into the transmission.

    See this page: http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Comp...eter_gears.asp

I just picked them by random, but they have good photos.

You can find what kid of drive gear that you have, then select the driven gear based on that info and the rear end ratio.

Then you will need a GM driven gear housing "Bullet".

If it doesn't screw on, then you also would be best to get a new GM cable & casing that was the same size/style for the speedometer to connect to that mentioned above.
