  • 1940 Commander Dash question

1400 mile Commander on Ebay has something on the dash that I have a question about.

Looks like a small gear shift, but clearly there is a proper one on the column.

I was thinking it was possibly for the signal lights, but really do not know. Someone please educate me.

Car is something else - and although I am a push-over for '41s, I would love to have this one...

Turbo- matic shift came in 41- so I would agree it must be turn signals

Yes, it is for the aftermarket turn signals. The first year Studebaker offered them as an integrated option was 1942.
