My 1961 Lark has been having shifting issues (not shifting into high). In South Bend it was very low on transmission fluid so I filled it and that helped. I was in Wisconsin Dells this weekend and the same problem but it wasn't low on fluid. Does this car have a shifting modulator? Is there anything else I should look at?

What condition are the motor mounts? I know that sounds kind of weird but if the mounts are either broken or collapsed it will change the adjustment on the rod controlling the pressure in the transmission. I'm not a trans expert but that would be the first thing I'd check.59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!
