Can anyone who attended the SB show tell me if there were any Sky Hawks there? They are extremely rare, with only 3,050 made. Some years ago I leaned that there were only 66 of them currently registered. I saw three of them last year at Warwick.

So much for a Sky Hawk...

Not that 64' convertibles or 64' Hawks, relatively speaking provide any real number of surviving vehicles.... but you'd be surprised how many Studebakers are out there. Can one extrapolate how many non-SDC or online browsers have these cars ? My hometown dealer, with no connection to the outside Stude world had 15 cars in relatively good condition. My childhood, hometown dealer had at least 6, again all in good working order and never touched a computer.... makes you wonder......

I am a somewhat irregular contributor to this forum and no one here knows the vehicles I own. It is impossible to state how many are left unless a very limited number were produced and they can all be accounted for.

There's one available right now in Nampa Idaho, near Boise (if you can stomach the modification to the front end).

That was one of the last 300 Presidents assembled in Vernon (LA).

That would not be too difficult to fix. I'd start with a hand held grinder. LOL

A few years ago the 56-57's were some of the least seen cars around the Stude circuits..... All of a sudden, they're thick as fleas......Nice riding cars...

There are a lot of "unknown" (and I say that tongue-in-cheek because the owner 'knows' about his own car of course :)) Studebakers out there. Look at your local Craigslist and see how many Studebakers are for sale that you have never seen.

I also wonder how many nice Sky Hawks gave up their lives to restore a Golden Hawk back in the late 1960's & 70's, before the value of them escalated.

Good point, but it wouldn't have been by me. I always liked the Sky Hawk the best of the 1956 Hawks.

Here's the Sky Hawk that used to turn up once in a while at local cruises. Belonged to the late Matt Friend who was an SDCer for some years. No idea where this car is now...this shot dates to one of the old Mapleview cruises, July 2008.

The good thing about this car is that any changes made are reversible.
