Everybody needs a friend who will say "No, you don't want to do that".

I would say that it fits into the 99% category... 99% will hate it!

Some very clever "engineering" involved in that, and LOTS of money. I would drive it, but wouldn't want to own it.....

The builder is obviously talented in constructing...in designing the 'look' of the car...well...um...lets say it's unique. The original series of XKE's are like 53 Stude C/K's...if you're going to mess with the styling you better have a great plan because you're messing with two designs that are about as perfect as perfect can be in a production auto. Cheers, Junior

I'd love to be there at a "British Only" car event. The blasphemy.

$7600 bid against $80,000 minimum.

This thing is the ultimate proof that You shouldn't do soothing "just because you can".

Pheeeeww. I wouldn't touch it if it were free.

I can respect the creativity and engineering of the build, I would like to see some of his other builds.

Up in Ojai Ca, there is a guy with quite a collection of cars. None of it is based upon investment potential, simply what floats his boat. No junk, all nice cars and some are now worth a fair bit but all very cool, interesting iron. One is an MGA that a friend of his bought new in '59. In the mid '60's it was involved in a minor wreck. The friend and the bodyman put heads together and grafted an early E-type Jag front fenders and front bumper. The job done is quite impressive, when you approach the car from the front you can't quite figure out what's not right. As you get closer, you notice the MG hood cut out and vents. Then you realize that the opening in the front is smaller and there isn't the fender welting.

The guy says the MG people are all over the place on that one but most are happy when they hear the back story...the Jag guys...well..not near as much.

The 30th annual British by the Sea car show will be on June 4th at Harkness State Park on beautiful Long Island Sound. With good weather I would expect 300 plus cars...everything from Allard to Zagato Zele (maybe only a Wolseley)! There are several shows scheduled for the 4th, but this is always my pick. Years ago I almost bought a TVR and there will be several in a row. The cars are vintage to current. For anyone in New England it is worthy of consideration.

First auction bids to $7,650, he wants $80,000. Second auction starts at $25,000 and he gets no bids. What does he do, starts another one with an opening bid of $60,000! Good luck buddy.
