I bought a rotted/rusted Lark. Will any 2 door Lark frame work? Or do I need to limit my search to 59-60? Or???

The 2dr and 4dr '59-'60 Lark are the same 108.5" frame with exception of the "Y" bodies offered for things like Taxi's. '59-'60 V8 frames are 13 gauge and 6 cylinder frames are 14 gauge. Depending on what you're using for pedals, the '61 up 109" frames won't have the pivot for floor pedals, but will have a tab for the swinging pedal setup. The only other real difference between the 108.5" and the 109 is where the axle sits on the leaf springs, not a difference in the frame. The '62-up frames have some extra rail behind the rear leaf spring perch that will need to be cut off and new rear bumper bolt holes drilled, but nothing that can't easily be done. I took a '62 Cruiser frame (113") and shortened it 4 inches just ahead of the front spring perches to come up with an 11 gauge frame (also installed the floor pedal pivot). The only other way to get a short heavy frame is to find a later 2-dr hardtop (or convertible "X" frame) and do the modifications.Skinny___'59 Lark VIII Regal____'60 Lark Marshal___
