  • Zip Van inquiry

I received the following email and photo from The Netherlands. I replied but as I have limited Zip Van knowledge (meaning zip), I invited the sender to visit here for possible additional information.

    Hello,

I am puzzled, I recently found this model, is it a Studebaker? It looks like
the Zip Van from 1963/1964. And do you have more info on this vehicle?

It was made by Zee in Hong Kong and is 1/32nd scale.

    Best regards,

    Coen Mol, the Netherlands

I'm no Zip van expert either, but here is the super nice one that was at Omaha.

Some features of the model are the same...some different.

I don't know, but the vintage is definitely the same. Here is one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/US-Mail-Toy-Truc...QQcmdZViewItem

It is similar, but not exactly the same as a Zip Van, but many toys fall into that category. A Zip Van does not have sliding doors on both sides, as the model does.
