Got my car back yesterday from the shop and found out my radiator is leaking.

Wondering if anyone has a good used one? Figured If I can get a non leaking used one I could use that for the show season and get mine fixed and have as a backup.

Radiator is for a 59 lark viii. 259v8

I will be at the international meet on Friday and Saturday if one is available..

Thanks

How critical is it that its original? I just installed a new aluminum radiator in my 56 Wagon. (same as your Lark). I think I paid $150 for it delivered to my door. There's one on ebay now for $129 free shipping. I had to cut 1/4" off one of the tabs to make it fit. Small price to pay since the radiator shop wanted $400 to rebuild mine. Hoses line up and it came with radiator cap.
Search on ebay for aluminum radiator for chevy 350 in Jeep. You'll get lots of choices and lots of prices.

The Chevy-Jeep one is the one I used in my 59 wagon. Just had to drill 4 new holes in the radiator support.

Ken Fedor ( champstude64@aol.com) who advertises on the Swap Page has several other than the ones he has listed. You might email him and see if you want to stay original.

You can also probably have your original radiator re-cored for less than the price of a new one. Cores are available and a reputable shop could have it ready in a couple of days.

Thank you for the info! I will do some looking on eBay and see what I can come up with if a used one doesn't work out.

Thanks for the contact info. If my first source doesn't work out I will email Ken and see if we can get together on one.

Hey,

I was wondering if you could send me the eBay link to the radiator that you used for your car. I have found a few that may work but wanted to compare to the one that you mentioned.

Thanks

That's the one I used in my 62 Lark, and it fit like a glove, no trimming necessary. I did have to drill new holes but don't remember whether it was two or four.

I'll have one at South Bend. It is out of a '63 V8 Larkl I assume they may fit the earlier Larks as well.

I posted my results for fitting an aluminum radiator in my 59' Lark HT last summer. It's a piece of cake. Only drilled two holes and it all lines up with hoses and fan blades. Wish everything was as easy. It has the added benefit of three rows instead of the original two rows for better cooling.

Will the jeep radiator fit under the hood of a 53/54?

With the lower hood, those radiators are quite shorter than the later versions. But with the popularity of those cars, there is probably someone out their making new versions...
