  • Rear Axle: Rear sway bar at rest

Can someone out there measure the approximate distance to the axle tube from the rear sway bar when the suspension is at rest. I forgot to do this prior to adding lowering blocks....yes I know you should never add lowering blocks to any suspension...especially a Studebaker

    Thanks in advance

Yea, you may have to modify the arm location on the leaf spring plate.

I lowered my wagon 2". Had to change the mount position on the spring plate. I just messed with it till I was happy that nothing touched at full extension or compression. Be sure to watch for anything hitting the brake lines.

P.s. - I would not go by just dimensions. Do what I did and run the suspension (axle) up and down to make sue nothing hits anything else.

      Bill,
Just went out and measured mine. The center of the mounting bolt is approx. 1 and 3/4 " above the axle tube. As Mike says You may have adjust this because the angles have changed, but this should give you a point to start from.
